How to Hook a USB up to an Older Car Stereo

    • 1). Power on your car so the radio plays. You must have a car with at least a CD player installed. Adapters only work with CD players and not tape decks.

    • 2). Insert the adapter into the CD changer. The adapter resembles that of a CD with a cable running the middle of it. The cable runs about a foot or so out of the CD player before connecting to a digital display. (The digital display is part of the adapter, the wire just allows you to manipulate and move the location of the display.)

    • 3). Connect your MP3 player or other device to the USB port. Power on the MP3 player and the track information appears on the adapter's screen.

    • 4). Press "Play" on the car stereo system. The controls on the stereo system will not function just like they would with a CD inserted into the player.
