Colorado has many scenic views to offer, but many are in remote, hard-to-reach locations that aren't easily accessible. There are a large number of railroads traversing the Colorado countryside, however, which provide many sightseeing opportunities for those who are seeking them. Whether you are looking for an adrenaline-pumping ride to the top of Pikes Peak, or a romantic wine dinner for two while riding the rails through the beautiful landscape, there is something for everyone on Colorado's vast railroads. - The Royal Gouge Route Railroad provides lunch and dinner on the rails for more than 100,000 guests annually. Located in the central region of the state and departing from the Santa Fe Depot, the Royal Gouge Route Railroad offers seasonal menus, entrees, desserts, a la carte and a selection of fine wine. Murder mystery events are also available on the train, along with other special events such as the railroad's Oktoberfest Lunch and regularly scheduled wine dinners, which includes a five-course meal prepared by an executive chef and a variety of fine wines to sample.

Guests will be able to see the abandoned mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek before being allowed to spend approximately 30 minutes at the summit of Pikes Peak. Visitors are restricted to only 30 to 40 minutes at the top because of the threat of altitude sickness.
