Sandia Peak Ski and Tramway also has an extensive skiing area, and offers certified snow sports lessons, a cafe for skiers, well-stocked ski shop and ski equipment rental. An on-site terrain park also is available, which consists of jumps, rails and funboxes for individuals between beginner and intermediate levels of skiing. Ski Santa Fe is only one hour away from Albuquerque. The elevation of the base area is 10,350 feet. The ski area is full of challenging terrain (660 acres) with many chutes full of powder, bumpy and steep runs, ample groomers and tree-skiing that is gladed. The summit elevation is 12,075 feet and the skiing area offers 1,725 vertical feet. The longest run in the entire area totals 3 miles.

The winter season starts at the end of November and lasts until the beginning of April every year. On average, the ski area receives about 305 inches of snowfall every year, and has 1,294 total acres for skiing, 13 lifts (including surface, double chair, triple chair and quad chair lifts), 110 trails and an on-site terrain park (with rails, quarter pipe and two airs). The base elevation of the mountain is 9,207 feet. Trails within the area are suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of skiers. A skiing school also is available for lessons.
