We are going to show you how to make authentic Mexican tamales. When you purchase the cornhusks, they'll be kind of crispy like this. You're not going to be able to use them like this. You're going to have to put them in a plastic container like this one. Actually the amount of tamales with the amount of masa we have right now, it's about 125 tamales, so you're going to need a lot of cornhusks. You would put water in them like this. You would leave the cornhusks in the water, especially if you all the cornhusks for all the tamales you're going to make. You would leave it about 30 minutes. Once the 30 minutes are over, the cornhusks are going to be something like this, much softer, much easier to work with.
