How to Prevent Trees From Sprouting

    • 1). Drill a series of holes into the stump that extend as deeply as possible. The more holes you drill into the stump, the better results you'll have in killing the stump completely.

    • 2). Fill each of the holes with table salt and add water.

    • 3). Add additional salt to the holes as it dissolves.

    • 4). Remove any sprouts that grow from the tree immediately to discourage new growth.
