What is it about vacation that makes everyone so envious? Aside from the time off of course.
It could be the heat, it could be the company, it could be the destination, or it could be it all.
Sunny vacations are surprisingly easy to forget when you're sitting in your office in the middle of July staring out at the rain that doesn't seem to ever stop.
This is obviously a good thing seeing as if you could remember you'd probably fall into a quick depression.
It's when you step off the airplane in the middle of the night and it's thirty degrees Celsius outside, there are palm trees all around, and the air is so thick you could cut it with a knife that you remember that feeling.
It's when you open up the door to your apartment or hotel room and remember that you can keep your sliding doors open through the clock because it is just that nice out.
It's the sand that you can kick around your terracotta floors, the cool stone walls of your room, that one shaded area outside your room where you can lie around reading your book.
Suddenly all of those amazing feelings associated with sunny vacations come over you and you can't ever imagine coming back to work.
Funky furniture and stylish home accessories that make the environment even better might include: Missoni towels: Missoni is an Italian fashion label best recognised for their fabulous and colourful patterns.
From stripes to zig zags, purples to burgundies, Missoni prints can look quite ethnic, so when you throw one of their towels over a wooden chaise lounge on the beach it looks very authentic.
Wicker swing seat: Swing seats are wonderful for people of all ages.
From little girls, to mothers and their children, to old men taking a snooze, everyone loves the comfort and movement of a swing seat.
Throw down a cushion to make it extra cosy and maybe hang it next to the dining table so the person in it can still be part of the conversation and social experience taking place around them.
Blinds made of twigs: With the sun out so many hours of the day it's nice to let it pour in through your windows.
However, it can get very hot and some amount of shading might be necessary especially if you want to keep the house relatively cool.
Instead of opting for some boring curtain or heavy blind, why not build something out of thin tree branches - in wicker, twig or bamboo even.
This will not only add an interesting element of aestheticism to your home, but it will keep it cool while still allowing just enough sunlight to enter.
Ahhh, to be on holiday again.
