Do People Still Decorate Their Bathroom Around Shower Curtains?

The short answer is yes.
The glossy magazines would have you believe that everyone has a palatial sized bath filled with gleaming metal, pristine shiny glass, and grounded with the most expensive natural stone surfaces and flooring.
The truth is, that most bathrooms are in family households and are small to modest in size and decor.
Every item is not strategically placed, just waiting for the next photo session.
The bath is a busy member of the household, getting much more use these days than in past generations.
The whole attitude about the bathroom has changed over the years, and it is now often seen as the second most important room in the house.
Bathrooms are designed and used today for relaxation and comfort as well as grooming.
Families with small children find a curtain easier to deal with when they have small children who need supervision or are still of an age that they need to be assisted in the bath.
Acurtain allows easy access to the whole tub area, where sliding doors can hinder.
Family households with small children often choose kids shower curtains in their bath featuring animals or familiar characters that the children are comfortable with, and build a theme around the curtain.
When children are older, the choice of themes broadens and floral or contemporary themes may be a more pleasing choice.
And, there are themes for a masculine taste also.
Woodsy or outdoorsy themes as well as more traditional or contemporary designs that have no print but rely on different shades of solid color or perhaps a two-color combination in solids that may have more appeal for men.
A curtain is also often chosen and preferred because of the warmth the texture and color can bring to a room that is filled with smooth, often cold fixtures and surfaces.
Not everyone is comfortable with the clean spare look, and since this is their home and comfort zone, would rather have a more homey and comfortable feel in the bath.
Curtains today are made of blended fabrics that have body and hang well, and are machine washable for easy care.
Other accessories can often be selected that further the theme, such as countertop items, towels, bath mats and matching hooks.
Possible theme categories are kids, tropical, animal prints, outdoor, nautical & beach, floral & nature, and contemporary shower curtains, as well as those that are just a solid color.
There is something to please every taste, age and gender.
