Beginning Internet Marketing - Monetizing Your Site

Making money on-line requires you to have a web page or website somewhere out on the Internet.
You also have to drive traffic to your site.
Those are two of the three things that you need to make money on-line.
The third item is monetizing your site.
There are three ways to monetize your site:
  1. Pay per Click
  2. Pay Per Sale
  3. Pay Per Lead
Pay Per Click means that you get paid every time someone clicks on a link.
This is not very common payment structure because of the potential for click fraud.
However, Google has a Pay Per Click program that will pay you.
It is called AdSense.
You can allow AdSense to display ads on your site.
You do not need to choose the ads.
Google will match relevant ads with the content of your site.
When a reader on your site clicks on an AdSense ad, you will get paid for that click.
Search for "AdSense" in Google to get to locate the AdSense program.
They will tell you all you need to know.
Pay Per Sale is the most common way to make money on-line.
With this technique, you offer a product for sale by a company participating in an affiliate program.
When a person clicks on the link from your site, and buys the product, you make a commission.
One of the most popular affiliate companies is Amazon.
You will find many sites offering products which are sold by Amazon.
If you go to Amazon via the link on the site and buy something from Amazon, the owner of the link is paid a commission on the sale.
Pay Per Lead is a less common affiliate program than pay per sale.
With pay per lead, you are paid for sending a qualified person to a company.
The company follows up with the individual to sell them there products.
Each company has their own definition as to what a qualified lead is.
If you send over a person with the correct qualifications, the company will pay you for the lead regardless if they can convert that lead to a sale.
Affiliate networks are one place you can find products to monetize your site.
Search for "affiliate networks" in a search engine to find them.
Some companies do not use an affiliate network and have their own affiliate program.
Search for either company name + "affiliate program" or industry name + "affiliate program" to find these companies.
