Video: Small Bumps Forming on the Skin

Video Transcript

Hi, I¡¯m Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist. And today, I¡¯m here to address the issue: Small bumps that might be forming on the skin. It could be due to quite a bit of different things, so it¡¯s first recommended to consult with a dermatologist. They can help pinpoint you and send you in the right direction of exactly how to deal with those. But, until then a very good just in the middle step is to make sure that you¡¯re exfoliating, but also to make sure that you¡¯re not over-exfoliating. So, this means that you need to take an exfoliant about twice a week to the skin. And, there¡¯s different ones out there on the market: Ones with microbeads, and then ones with pieces of sand in them. So, depending on your skin type and how sensitive it is, you need to dictate what kind you need. So, we¡¯re going in with the pieces of sand, St. Ives, standard stuff but great, and really just going to exfoliate the area in which the bumps occur. Sometimes, the bumps can be ingrown hairs, and they just need to be a little exfoliated to open up the skin and make the hairs available and open, as well as the pores. So, that¡¯s step number one. I like to move it in small circles ¨C that¡¯s going to help smooth out the skin the best. Now, after that, it¡¯s great to rinse with warm water, because that¡¯s going to open up the pores. And, just make sure that you get all of this off, preferably near a sink ¨C it¡¯s easiest. So, after we have it removed, it¡¯s also important to keep moisturized. So, use a very light moisturizer, but not one that¡¯s too heavy that¡¯s going to clog up the pores again ¨C we don¡¯t want to counteract what we just did. And, I like to recommend the brand Embryolisse, because it¡¯s great for sensitive skin, and it can also be used under your makeup. So, it can fight this problem, but also be used while you¡¯re wearing your makeup as well. And, these are just some great steps to keep in mind. I¡¯m Erin Hendley, and I just showed you how to remove small bumps from your face.
