- Rewrite code
Dreamweaver will fix invalidly nested code and tags that aren't closed. It will rename form objects that you paste into your document so that you don't have forms with the same name. And Dreamweaver will remove extra closing tags that are missing a corresponding opening tag.
- Never rewrite code
If you choose to have Dreamweaver rewrite the code, you can have it leave the code alone in files with specific extensions. This prevents problems when you use programmatic nesting or tags. - Special characters
Dreamweaver encodes <, >, &, and " characters automatically with & codes unless you deselect this option. - URL encoding
Dreamweaver will convert URLs with special characters (including &) to either & codes or % codes, or it will leave them alone.
Once you've updated the code rewriting options, click "OK" to save your preferences.
