Linnanmaki Park



If you are planning to visit Finland with your family or as an organization then Linnanmaki Park must be at the top of your list. The park was established in 1950 in Helsinki, Finland. It offers a great view of the city as it is located on a hill. It’s a relatively small park covering 75,000 square meters but you and your kids are guaranteed to have some fun.

Linnanmaki Park in Finland has over 40 rides and other attractions such as games, kiosks, meeting rooms, restaurants and theatres.


However, the 50 year old wooden roller coaster is the most popular ride. There is something about the wooden structure and the noise that makes riding on it more fun. The best time to visit the park is during summer that is, between the months of April and September. There are no official opening and closing hours hence, it`s advisable to check the park website before visiting.

Entrance to Linnanmaki Park in Finland is free although you have to pay for each ride. This can be a bit expensive especially if you want to go for many rides or you have a bigger family. A cheaper way would be to buy a wristband which allows visitors to access all rides the whole day.

There is on ride that is entirely free, Panoraama. As a safety precaution, there are height based restrictions set for riders by ride manufacturers. The height of the riders is measured before a ride. Consequently, tall people are limited to access some rides. Depending on the weather or technical problems, some rides may be closed.

Music lovers can enjoy smooth musical performances at peacock theatre which is located in the park. The theatre can hold up to 900 people. There is also a hall which is equipped with modern with modern conference and exhibition facilities that can hold up to 120 people. Movie lovers can get to enjoy magical movie experience at KINO cinema which can hold up to 72 people. Make sure you watch out for various performances at the outdoor stage. There are several festivals and shows at the arcade, held at Linnanmaki Park in Finland each year.

When it comes to food, Linnanmaki Park in Finland has versatile restaurants and kiosks offering meals, snacks, ice-cream and beverages. Kattila restaurant and Kuula meatball bar are highly recommended. Sometimes the queues are really long so if possible, carry your own food. You can move in the park freely without any restrictions. If you don’t have money to spend, you can just have some ice cream as you enjoy the atmosphere. Their amenities such as toilets are clean and in good condition. The toilets are accessible to persons with disabilities. 

The park is easily accessible from the city by a bus. It has become popular as the years go by. Each year it receives millions of visitors of all ages from all over the world. It is also popular with the locals because of them had their first dates there. All the park`s collections go to the child welfare organization. New attractions are bought yearly making it worth visiting.
