Cruising South America

Rio de Janeiro. Buenos Aires. Ushuaia. Valparaiso/Santiago.Puerto Madryn. Pisco. Manta - Not all the traditional ports-of-call on a passenger cruise, but nonetheless, very popular ones on the South American cruise line routes. The Caribbean has long been a favorite cruising locale, but when it is winter in the northern hemisphere, a cruise in South American waters certainly appeals.

In addition to escaping winter cold, it's a great time to find new adventures on a cruise, either a short or extended one, from October through March/April.

Cruise lines often offer special deals for Christmas and New Year, for Carnival and to fill empty staterooms.

Check out these sample tours from various cruise lines. Prices are subject to change, of course, as are destinations and departures. You'll find upscale luxury, premium and family or single cruises with a range of accommodations and on-board activities. Many cruises offer a choice of tours and activties at their ports-of-call.
