- 1). Use the brush to smooth out any snarls in your hair.
- 2). Pull all of your hair into one location in the center back of your head. Use both hands to gather it together in one bundle with the ends hanging freely.
- 3). Wrap one elastic ponytail holder two to four times around the gathered hair. The holder should remain as close to your scalp as possible to keep the ponytail snug and prevent it from sliding out.
- 1). Follow the instructions in Section 1 to make a ponytail. Gather all of your hair into a ponytail in the back of your head.
- 2). Use your hands to twist or braid the hair hanging down from the ponytail. You do not need to tie this off with an elastic holder, but you may do so if desired.
- 3). Wrap this length of hair in a circular motion around the ponytail holder, covering the holder. Keep wrapping until just the tail --- the very end bit --- of the braid or ponytail is left in your hand.
- 4). Tuck the tail beneath the bun. Stick a bobby pin or hair pin around the tail and into the bun to secure the ends. Stick other pins into various places around the bun to secure it to your head. Keep pinning the bun until it no longer feels loose.
- 1). Part your hair down the center of your scalp with the comb. Begin the part at the top of your forehead and continue the part down to the nape of your neck.
- 2). Gather the hair on the left side of your part into a small ponytail with an elastic ponytail holder. Position it at the desired location on the left side of your head. Popular choices include above the ear, behind the ear and beneath the ear.
- 3). Perform Step 2 on the right side of your head. Look in a mirror to help you line up the position of the right pigtail with the position of the left one.
