- 1). Turn the circuit breaker to the dishwasher installation area off.
- 2). Insert a screwdriver into the two screws on each side of the kick panel. The kick panel is the metal panel on the bottom of the dishwasher. Turn each screw counterclockwise to loosen them and pull each one straight out. Pull the kick panel straight off the dishwasher.
- 3). Grasp the junction box cover with one hand and pry the two tabs up on the left and right sides. Pull the junction box cover straight off the dishwasher. The junction box is a metal rectangular box on the right bottom of the dishwasher that holds the electrical wiring for the dishwasher.
- 4). Pull the wiring from behind the dishwasher underneath the frame and feed it into the knockout hole in the junction box.
- 5). Strip about a half and inch of insulation from each wire using the wire strippers.
- 6). Twist the black wire from the dishwasher junction box together with the black wire from the house wiring. Place a wire nut on the junction by pushing it onto the wires and turning it clockwise. Repeat this step to attach the white house wiring with the white dishwasher wire.
- 7). Unscrew the green screw on the dishwasher near the junction box. Wrap the bare end of the house green wire around it and tighten the screw on the ground wire. Your model may have a green wire in the junction box. If it does, join it to the green house wire in the same manner as the white and black wires.
