How to Select a Class C Motorhome

    • 1). View Class C motorhome vehicle listings to compare specs. Specifications will include height, length, chassis model, wheel base, engine size, sleeping capacity, storage capacity and utility features. One helpful website is Camping World (see Resources). Used and new RVs are advertised through the website.

    • 2). Read reviews of Class C motorhomes. To narrow down your selection, find RV review sites to see what others are saying about models you are interested in. For instance, Roaming Times has a section dedicated to Class C motorhome reviews (see Resources).

    • 3). Walk through the motorhomes to inspect their layouts and determine how many people they can sleep. As far as sleeping arrangements, Class C motorhomes can sleep up to 10 people.

    • 4). Look at the fuel mileage of the Class C motorhome. One of the appeals of this RV category is that the vehicles tend to get better gas mileage than their Class A counterparts. For instance, the Dodge Sprinter, a Class C motorhome, can get as much as 20 mpg.

    • 5). Test drive the motorhome to see how well it handles and how comfortable you are behind the wheel.
