Riding Stables in Bridgewater, MA

    Dorbill Stables

      Located on Pleasant Street in Bridgewater, Dorbill Stables caters to both beginning and advanced riders. The stable offers lessons for beginners, as well as training in English Pleasure, Dressage and Hunting/Jumping styles. The stable has a summer camp program where kids take riding lessons, perform in weekly horse shows, and learn about horse and stable care. Dorbill has boarding services, which includes daily stall cleaning and individual horse turnouts. Horse shows take place throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons. Dorbill also offers a limited number of horses for sale.

    The Bridge Center

      The Bridge Center, located on Pine Street in Bridgewater, was founded in 1963 as a recreation center for children with disabilities. The Bridge Center operates its own stable, with 12 carefully chosen and specially trained horses. The Center operates two riding programs, Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy. The Therapeutic Riding program focuses on increasing sensory, motor and communication skills for children with disabilities. The Hippotherapy program uses the care and riding of horses to provide physical and occupation therapy for children and teens. While the Center does charge fees for its programs, families with limited incomes are eligible for reduced rates.

    Lonesome Dove Stables

      Just six miles away from Bridgewater, in nearby Raynham, is Lonesome Dove Stables. The stable places a large emphasis on horse training, and is willing to work with difficult or troublesome horses. Lonesome Dove also assists new horse owners in learning the basics of horse care, and is even willing to make home visits. The stable offers boarding, as well as having a large selection of fully-trained horses for sale. While the stable does not hold on-site shows, they do have a competitive showing team that attends all levels of competition.

    Dunrovin Farm

      Six miles from Bridgewater to the east lies Dunrovin Farm in Halifax. The 23-acre farm offers a unique combination of riding lessons, organic products and Labrador Retrievers. Lessons are offered year-round at the farm, and riding styles include Hunt Seat, Saddle Seat and Western. The Dunrovin Farm horses are not for sale, but they are available for lease. The Farm also has boarding services. Dunrovin Farm makes a commitment to high quality foods for pets, and offers products that are natural, organic and holistic.
