- 1). Stand the 4-feet-long, 4-by-4s on end on each corner of the trailer and attach them to the trailer's floor using 4-inch-long decking screws. It will help if you have a friend hold the 4-by-4s up while you screw them into place.
- 2). Fasten the two 6-feet-long, 2-by-4s parallel to the trailer's sides to the top of the 4-by-4s. Use some of the 4-inch decking screws to do this by drilling the decking screws through the 2-by-4s, 2-inch-sides and on into the 4-by-4s. These will form the sides of the frame for the rectangular exterior of the trailer.
- 3). Attach the two 4-feet-long, 2-by-4s to the top of the 4-by-4s parallel to the trailer's front and rear. Use some of the 4-inch decking screws to do this by drilling the decking screws through the 2-by-4s, 2-inch sides and on into the 4-by-4s. These will form the front and back of the frame for the rectangular trailer exterior. Now there is a rectangular framework to hang the plywood on for the trailer's sides and top.
- 4). Secure the 4-feet-wide by 4-feet-high, ½ inch-thick plywood plates to the front and back of the trailer's rectangular frame. Use the 2-inch screws for this. This closes up the front and back of the trailer.
- 5). Secure the first two, 4-feet-wide by 6-feet-high, ½-inch thick plywood plates to the sides of the trailer where they completely cover the trailer's sides. Use the 2-inch screws for this.
- 6). Secure the third 4-feet-wide by 6-feet-high, ½-inch thick plywood plate to the top of the frame. Use the 2-inch screws for this. This will fully close in the trailer.
- 7). Cut the top off of the weatherproof caulk with the knife opening it up for use. Load the caulking gun with the caulk. Then proceed to squirt caulk into all crevices where the plywood meets on the trailer. This seals up the trailer making it better capable of dealing with the elements.
- 1). Draw and measure a 3½-feet-long crosswise line 6 inches below the top of the trailer on the left side of the trailer about 1 foot from the rear of the wheel of the trailer.
- 2). Draw and measure a 3½-feet long crosswise line 6 inches above the bottom of the trailer 1 foot from the rear of the wheel of the trailer on the left side of the trailer. Be certain to make this line parallel to the other line you drew.
- 3). Link up the lines you made in steps 1 and 2 at the ends with lines that are parallel and spaced 3½ feet apart from one another. This will draw a 3½-feet-wide by 3-feet-high rectangle on the trailer's side that will become the trailer's door.
- 4). Bore a ½-inch-diameter hole with the ½-inch-drill bit on one corner of the rectangle.
- 5). Fit the jigsaw's blade into the hole drilled out in step 4. Now follow the rectangle's lines and saw a 3½- feet-wide by 3-feet-high door piece from the trailer's side. Hang on to the wood piece that you remove with the saw because this is going to be trailer's door.
- 6). Use the wood glue to fasten weatherproof rubber stripping completely around the edges of the door hole in the trailer's side. This will seal the door of the trailer.
- 7). Attach door hinges to the right side of the door hole. Now secure the hinges to the door piece that was removed from the trailer in step 5. Secure the door hinges to one of the 3-feet-long sides of the door piece. This will make the door fit tight on the door's hole when the door is shut.
- 8). Place the RV door knob in the door by drilling a ½-inch hole for the shaft of the door knob through the door. Then secure the knob onto the door. Make sure that the latch of the door will secure the door to the trailer when the door is closed. This is to be certain that the door will not fly open when traveling.
- 1). Varnish the interior of the trailer. Paint the varnish onto the walls, floor and sides of the trailer using the painting brush.
- 2). Cover the outside of the trailer with exterior grade paint.
- 3). Secure the battery operated tent lights to the roof of the trailer's interior. This will provide light in the trailer when you are camping.
- 4). Position the 4-feet-wide by 6-feet-long foam mattress on the trailer's floor. This is the trailer's bed.
- 5). Load your camping gear into the trailer and close and lock the door. The trailer is now complete and ready for your camping adventures.
