Know More about Eyelid Lift

Eyelid lift surgery is definitely a great option for many people. However, there are certain factors that determine whether a person is the right candidate for that surgery or not. Eyelid lift, also known as blepharoplasty is a safe procedure. However, just like other surgeries, risks are involved in this procedure as well. Therefore, you should make sure whether you are a candidate for the procedure.

Opt for eyelid lift surgery if you have the following conditions:

  •   Loose or excess skin that hangs down from or obscures the fold of the upper eyelids
  •   If the eyes look tired or the upper eyelids are puffy
  •   If the lower eyelids have excess wrinkles or skin or are droopy
  •   If there are bags and dark circles under the eyes

In majority of the cases, these issues can be corrected easily with the help of eyelid lift surgery. The plastic surgeon may suggest some other treatments as well in combination with this. However, this would depend on the severity of the condition.

Get Natural Looking Results with Eyelid Lift

As a person ages, the elasticity of the skin around the eyes is lost. Due to this, the upper eyelids droop and wrinkles and bulges develop in the lower eyelid area. With blepharoplasty, the function and form of the eyelids are restored. This procedure can be performed to improve vision or for cosmetic reasons. The surgeon removes the sagging upper eyelid skin. With blepharoplasty, patients are offered long lasting and natural looking results.

 Types of surgeries:

 Upper Eyelid surgery

In upper eyelid lift, the excess skin, muscle and fat found on the upper eyelid crease are removed. The puffiness of the eyelid can also be resolved. The surgeon makes the incision in the upper eyelid fold and so, it remains invisible.

 Lower Eyelid Surgery

In lower eyelid surgery, wrinkles and excess skin in the lower eyelid are removed. In Transcutaneous blepharoplasty, the surgeon would make an incision below the eyelashes and would extend it into one of the crow's feet lines. In Transconjuctival blepharoplasty, a tiny incision is made by the surgeon inside the lower eyelid. It is highly recommended for patients with no excess skin, but only excess fat.

The issues would be thoroughly evaluated by the plastic surgeon and the most suitable procedure of cosmetic surgery would be recommended to improve the appearance of your eyes. Restylane or Botox treatment can also be opted for, in combination with eyelid surgery for improving the lower face wrinkles.
