- 1). Hover the mouse cursor over the icon on the left toolbar that shows a paintbrush. When you rollover the button, the words Brush Tool pop up.
- 2). Click the brush tool icon so it is selected and turns a lighter shade of gray. You are now using the brush tool.
- 3). Adjust the tool specifications on the top of the screen. Change the brush size to the desired dimensions and shape. Test the size by clicking on the arrow next to Brush and the numeral next to it in the top tool bar. With the size selected, hover over your canvas with the cursor and you will see the size of the stroke represented by the arrow cursor transformed into a circle. Adjust the size of the brush if necessary.
- 4). Set the Mode to normal and the Opacity to 100% in the top toolbar if it is not set at that already. Change the color in the left toolbar by double clicking on the square at the bottom of the toolbar to open a color pallet. Click on the desired color to set it and close the color pallet.
- 5). Click on the screen canvas and, while holding your mouse button down, drag to create a brush stroke.
