Internet Marketing Tips - The 3 T"s

This is the second in a serious of articles that I hope will be entertaining as well as informative.
In this one, I'm going over the three T's of Internet marketing.
Can you guess what they are? I'm sure one of them you can spot right away.
And that's the one I'm going to start off with.
Keep reading to find out what the other two are.
Okay, at the top of the list (fanfare please)...
TRAFFIC.
Yeah, I bet you saw that coming.
It may be one of the most IMPORTANT parts or Internet marketing...
generating traffic.
Ah, but this is where so many people drop the ball.
It's not just enough to generate traffic, even if you can generate tons of it.
Imagine I went to a forum that had 100,000 members interested in pig farming and I went there with a signature that said, "Visit My Site For A Big Surprise" and I managed to get all 100,000 members to go and when they got there they found the following headline.
"Discover The Only Natural Cure For Acne Ever Created.
" How many of those 100,000 people do you think would be interested in my product? Maybe, just out of dumb luck, 10 of them happen to have kids with acne.
Point is, traffic, if it's not targeted (that's the key word) is absolutely worthless.
You need to go after the people who are going to be interested in what YOU have to sell.
Anybody can go out there and use traffic generation methods that will get you millions of visitors, if that's what you want.
But don't expect many sales.
So in this case, we actually have two T's combined...
targeted and traffic.
Put them together and you have quite a killer combination.
But for the purposes of this article, we'll still count that as just one T.
Number two on my list is another big one...
testing.
Oh brother.
How many people consider this only as an afterthought, it at all? Admit it.
You toss up a sales page, hope and pray for the best and then, when it totally bombs out, you say, "heck with it" and don't even bother to test another version of it? Or worse, you manage to put up a sales page that converts at 1% and say, "That's good enough" and don't bother to try to improve it.
Laziness gets the best of many of us.
Testing is CRITICAL if you're going to maximize the results of anything that you do, whether it's list building, article marketing, PPC or whatever.
You can't just toss the first thing up there and say, "This'll have to do.
" Sometimes it doesn't do anything at all and you have to keep tweaking it to get it just right.
Don't EVER forget this.
Finally, we have tracking.
Testing and tracking kind of go hand in hand.
The only way you can accurately test a sales page or anything for that matter is by tracking your results.
I can't even begin to tell you how many tracking links I've got out there on the Internet.
I have lost count already.
This way, I know what ads are effective and what ads are bombing out.
I know what products convert well and what products stink at converting.
If you are NOT tracking, you are marketing in the dark...
period.
There you have it...
the three T's of Internet marketing.
Don't EVER forget them...
not that you could.
To YOUR Success, Steven Wagenheim.
