Installing a Shower Curtain Rod

An easy and inexpensive way to freshen up your bathroom is to install a new shower curtain rod and shower curtain.
I've put together some simple instructions to making hanging your new rod and curtain a breeze.
The Things You'll Need to Install a Curtain Rod
  • A shower curtain rod
  • Mounting brackets and screws
  • A measuring tape
  • A pencil
  • A Philips screwdriver
  • Curtain rings
  • A shower curtain
Instructions The first thing we need to do is hang the new curtain rod.
In order for your shower rod to hang properly we'll need to measure the space where the mounting brackets have to go.
Shake out your new curtain and hold it up by the wall where it needs to go.
Using your pencil, mark the wall at the top of the curtain; Then with your measuring tape, measure the distance from the ceiling to the mark on the wall, this will give you the exact spot you need to make your second mark on the other side of the wall.
Use your screw driver to screw in the mounting brackets to the wall where you have made your marks, then insert the shower curtain rod right into the mounting brackets and you've got yourself a new curtain pole! Hanging the Curtain on the Rod Now that you've got your new shower rod up, you'll need to hang the curtain.
Firstly you'll need to attach the curtain rings to the rod.
Then take your new curtain and put the curtain ring through the hole at the top of the curtain and clamp the curtain ring shut.
Repeat this step until all your curtain rings are through the holes and clamped shut.
