- 1). Decide on your character. Every wrestler has a "gimmick" or personality. Wrestlers are generally divided into good guys and bad guys, and so your costume should reflect that. Bad guys wear darker shades, whereas good guys should look as colorful and vibrant as possible.
- 2). Cut up a pair of jeans so that they hang just above the knee. This is the style commonly used by the likes of John Cena. Alternatively, if you want the more traditional wrestling look, use a pair of Lycra shorts instead. This will form the basis of the wrestling pants.
- 3). Snip off the closed ends of a pair of black socks. Slid up each leg over the knee, these will represent wrestling knee pads. Let the jeans hang slightly over them, or, if using Lycra, tuck the pants into the socks/knee pads.
- 4). Tie shoelaces around your legs. Tie them either around the Lycra shorts or just above the knee pads, letting them hang down. These resemble tassels, made famous by 1980s' wrestling star The Ultimate Warrior. You can use as many shoelaces as you can find, and they will really add a splash of color to your outfit.
- 5). Finish your wrestling pants with leftover fabric. Select any fabric you may have in your home. Use scissors and color pens to shape and style the patterns before using thread and a needle to sew them onto the pants.
