- 1). Clean the exterior siding, using a pressure washer. Wait two to four hours for the siding to dry.
- 2). Cut the tip off a tube of acrylic caulk, using a razor blade. Insert the tube into the caulk gun.
- 3). Seal the seams of mitered siding and corner boards with a bead of caulk. Wait six hours for the caulk to dry. Skip this step if you have metal corners.
- 4). Prime the corner material. Apply a galvanized metal etching primer to metal siding corners, using a paintbrush manufactured for use with water-based coatings. Paint miter edges and and corner boards with an acrylic latex primer. Wait four hours for the primed corners to dry.
- 5). Wash the paintbrush with water.
- 6). Coat the corners with acrylic latex paint, using the clean paintbrush. Wait two hours for the paint to dry or as indicated on the product label. Apply another coat of paint if the coverage is poor.
