- 1). Remove items obstructing the path between the remote control and the television. Point the remote directly at the television.
- 2). Replace dead batteries and ensure they are installed correctly. Do not mix old and new batteries.
- 3). Change the operating mode on the remote to the correct device.
- 1). Turn the television to a different channel to ensure that the problem is not the channel broadcast.
- 2). Check the cable connections and tighten loose connections. Inspect the cables for damage and replace damaged cables.
- 3). Plug another small appliance into the outlet to make sure it is working properly.
- 1). Check the video cables and install them correctly if the television has poor picture quality. Replace damaged cables.
- 2). Turn off nearby appliances to determine if other appliances are causing interference if the picture is shaky or has vertical or horizontal bars.
