- 1). Check that the Moen faucet is completely shut off. A faucet handle that's slightly raised or pushed in the open position can cause the faucet to dribble water.
- 2). Replace the cartridge in the faucet's head if water drips from the spout. A broken cartridge won't create the watertight seal needed to keep the water in, resulting in leaks. Moen's model-specific user manual, provided with your faucet, outlines the specific replacement part needed.
- 3). Jiggle the Moen faucet's handle. If water leaks out of the faucet spout only when the handle is turned in a specific position, its pivot retainer may need replacing. A handle adapter kit for your specific Moen model includes all necessary parts to replace the handle.
- 4). Inspect the base of the Moen faucet. If water leaks from the faucet's base rather than its spout, the device's rubber O-ring may have torn or cracked. Such cracking is normal over a prolonged period of use. A cracked ring allows water to escape from the base, even when the handle isn't in the open position. Replace the ring, ordering the specific ring type from Moen as specified in your user manual.
- 5). Contact Moen's customer service line toll-free at 800-289-6636 if you still can't get your Moen facuet to function well. Customer service representatives are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
