- 1). Purchase a custom domain name from a domain registrar, such as Namecheap (namecheap.com) or GoDaddy (godaddy.com). Use your own name, a word or phrase that describes your blog's topic for the "yourdomain" part of your blog address, followed by any valid extension, such as ".com" or ".net."
- 2). Log into your user account at your domain registrar and select the option on the control panel that allows you to manage your DNS settings.
- 3). Click on the option to "Add a new CNAME record." In the "Name" field, enter only "www," without quotes. Enter "ghs.google.com," without quotes, in the "Host Name" box to indicate Google's sub-domain. Click "OK" or "Submit" to confirm the change.
- 4). Log into your blog account at Blogger. Click on the "Settings" tab and select "Publishing."
- 5). Click on the "Custom Domain" link and enter your new domain name into the box. Save your settings.
