"My Husband Snores" - Such a Common Complaint But What Impact Can it Have on Your Relation

One complaint I am emailed all the time is that "My Husband Snores.
" But how can snoring impact on your relationship? Is snoring causing a lot of stress and strain between you and your partner? No matter how good your relationship is all other respects and how much you love each other, a lack of sleep for one of both partners will typically create serious problems between any couple.
Going to bed at the end of a long day should be one of those wonderful pleasures of any relationship.
And a good night's sleep is one of the prerequisites for a healthy and happy life.
Whether you are the snorer and feel guilty that you keep your partner awake, or whether you are subjected to the terrible noise night after night by your significant other, the signs of stress will start to show pretty quickly.
These signs can manifest in a number of different ways.
I wonder if you can relate to any of them:
  • Arguments - these are much more common and quick to start when people are suffering from a lack of quality sleep.
The longer the lack of sleep goes on then the more arguments a couple are likely to have and longer it's likely to take to resolve them.
This can be worsened by the second issue which is..
    ...
  • Resentment of the snorer - This resentment is felt towards the snorer when one of the partners feels they have exhausted every option to sleep through the noise.
If this is you, you will be able to relate to wrapping the pillow around your head, using ear plugs, listening to music - all without relief from the snoring.
This resentment is far more pronounced if the partner is not seen to be making any effort to stop their own snoring.
  • Sleeping separately - One disastrous result of snoring is that one of the partners may have to resort to sleeping in a separate room just to get some rest.
It's not hard to see the massive strain this would put on a relationship with lack of physical intimacy causing further distancing between the two.
This has been the first step towards many a divorce.
Listen to this person's experiences and see if you can relate to them or (if you are the snorer) do they enable you to see things from your partner's perspective? "My husband's snoring is so loud that it's impossible to sleep next to him.
At first I tried wearing ear plugs but it's impossible to drown him out.
I used to try to turn him over but that only worked for so long, before he started again.
The lack of sleep I am experiencing has begun to effect me.
I used to be a fairly relaxed person but now I am short tempered with him and the kids.
I know it's not really his fault, but I can't help being angry with him.
He just drops off to sleep and doesn't see the problem.
It's got so bad that I sleep in the spare room most of the time, and our physical relationship is almost dead as a result.
I do love him but I can not carry on like this and he doesn't seam to be doing anything to help the situation.
I am just so frustrated and don't know how much longer we can carry on like this.
" If you value your relationship and you want it to last then you have to make it your priority to solve the terrible problem that snoring really is so that you can have a happy and fulfilling relationship.
When you take into consideration the need to have a good night's sleep in order to be healthy and full of energy then it's important to do something about snoring straight away and put the nightmare behind you.
