Ten Things To Know Before You Go:
  1. Foundry on First, or simply, the Foundry, is located near US Airways Center, just half a block from Alice Coopers'town.
  2. If there is no basketball game or baseball game downtown, you'll be able to find free parking on the street within a few blocks of the venue. Otherwise, there is a street lot right across the railroad tracks and other street lots within a few blocks. There are parking meters close by, but bring lots of quarters, and make sure you check when payment is required. The meters aren't just until 5 p.m. any more.

  1. The great majority of shows at the Foundry are general admission, standing only.
  2. The vibe here is warehouse (or foundry). I liked it
  3. There is a VIP section on the far side of the club with booth seating, cocktail tables a private bar. Honestly, when I was there in September 2011, they didn't look like the greatest seats if you are interested in watching the stage. A staffer told me that they may re-think the VIP location.
  4. There are plenty of bars. Once the music starts, it might be hard to get to one, but you can certainly go out to the lobby and access the bar there from the lobby side. I found the drinks to be reasonably priced.
  5. The bar accepts credit cards, merchandise sellers may not. There is an ATM on the premises, but bring some cash if you'll be buying music or tee shirts.
  6. There is no food at all offered here, not even in VIP. They have announced plans to have a full service restaurant.
  7. The doors typically open an hour before the scheduled show time, and most of the people will start to arrive half an hour before.
  8. There is a raised platform behind the control area. That's where I would get a spot to stand if I didn't want to be right up front.
  9. Got glow-in-the-dark clothing?
