- Scrums consist of a series of 20-30 day sprints. A sprint is a limited milestone or course of action with a set of goals for a predetermined time frame (20-30 days). Each sprint has a set of achievable goals developed before the start of the sprint. No new features may be added unless there is time at the end of the sprint, otherwise a new sprint needs to be planned out and started. This in effect scraps the old sprint.
- Teams are composed of multidisciplinary groups, typically 1-2 programmers, a coder, artists and designers as well as a production representative for management. This allows each team to take on a complete macro task by themselves without having to rely on outside resources or dependencies. The lead designer or production representative usually coordinates tasks for individual members.
- Each morning consists of a short 10-20 minute meeting for progress reports. Each team member reports on the status of their current assignment, any needs or dependencies, as well as availability for new projects. The key here is that all members of the team know generally what the other members are doing. This works well with the broad teams because they have a view of the larger picture and are able to anticipate needs and features.
