Ever heard of a company called Blogger Mind? Well if you haven't you don't need to worry.
It is one of many companies that promote brands using various techniques such as word of mouth and social media.
This company and many other such companies use social media for multiple functional objectives such as product launch, idea generation, online reputation management, driving sales to online store, and to create a community around a brand.
Typical days for employee of such companies include checking the email, reply to the twitter posts, taking care of followers on Facebook and end the day with Flickr and YouTube.
Sounds exciting? Well it is not all fun, as at the end of the day it is all part of a job.
It requires the same amount of dedication as any other job.
Replying to lots of posts can be exhausting, but these people are not complaining.
Social media is relevant to any company whose audience participates in or is influenced by online discussions.
It is not that only the Gen-Y tech-savvy companies are following this route.

The qualification that a company looks for before hiring you is good communication skills, with a command over English language.
More importantly, you should feel for this kind of profile.
Additionally if a person has marketing degree or work experience in advertising, PR or online marketing than it will boost his chances.

If you have done masters or an MBA from some good institute than you can see a good jump in your starting salary.
With interesting designations cropping up everyday, for a social media agency professional, alternative career options could be to work for a brand as their internal social media head, or in other media careers that will embrace social media soon, as extensions of their current media avatars.
