Find the number of watts you used during any period on your electric bill. For example, a house used 70,000 watts during the month.

Count the number of rooms in your residence. In the example, you have six rooms.

Divide the number of watts you used by the number of rooms you have. In the example, 70,000 watts divided by six rooms equals 11,666.67 watts per room.
