Rail Travel Tours

    Tour Types

    • Rail Travel Tours organize two types of tours. Independent tours are for unaccompanied itineraries for travelers who wish to venture out alone. "Group" tours are for travelers who wish to be part of an organized vacation with others. Group tours enjoy a welcome reception for mingling prior to beginning their trip. Some of the available itineraries are seasonal and others operate all year.

    Example of an Independent Tour

    • "Across Canada" is a nine-day, eight-night trip between Toronto and Vancouver. Four of these days and nights are spent on board the westbound "Canadian" train. The first night is spent in a five-star railway hotel in Toronto with similar luxurious accommodation in Vancouver on the last night of the vacation. Two nights are spent in Jasper. Travellers taking this trip enjoy some of the most magnificent scenery in the world from the comfort of their railway cabin or their train's observation coaches.

    Example of a Guided Tour

    • As of 2010 "Hudson Bay, Buggies and Bears" operates in October. The itinerary involves four days and nights going round-trip between Winnipeg and Churchill. This is broken up with a two night stop in Churchill, the Manitoba town made famous by its proximity to polar bears waiting for the Hudson Bay to freeze. A trip on the famous Hudson Buggy to view these animals in their natural surroundings is a highlight of the tour, which once again involves travelling through some of Canada's most dramatic scenery.
