Below, I have compiled a list you can use as a guideline to safety-check the things you need to consider.
It is important to start out on the right course to increase the chance of your being free from anxiety or panic forever.
Here is that check list:
- I was completely thorough when deciding what types of treatment were acceptable and what were not.
- I ensured I knew exactly what my condition was by getting professional help where appropriate
- I questioned my own doctor to understand whether or not they had sufficient experience to deal with my situation.
- I found out about other professionals who could help me get the right diagnosis and treatment.
- I made sure I understood my condition.
- I investigated the cause of my problem thoroughly so I could determine the right program to get rid of it.
- I did not censor my mind and left it open to all types of treatment that could have some beneficial help to ending my problem with anxiety.
- I researched the drug based treatment and found about the benefits and the side effects.
- I asked myself questions like "Do I wish to take drugs in order to achieve my desire of being free from panic attacks" and "Are there things that the treatment must have in order for me to accept it?"
- I set a time frame by which I would have chosen a properly selected treatment.
- I found out the price of the treatments so I would have no surprises.
- I worked out the benefit of getting treated.
- I calculated the cost of not getting treated and the gains I would have in terms of time and money by getting treated.
- I decided on the right course of action for me and took immediate action in order to set my 'cure' in motion.
But what I am saying, is that the experience of nearly every professional in this field will have a list like this.
And they know that the people who have been successful in getting rid of anxiety, panic attacks or PTSD and more have put a tick beside every one on the list.
So you don't have to do everything - but it will be easier if you do.
Now here are some extra pointers you should consider.
- Take your health seriously
- Prioritize your time to deal with any problems you may have.
NOTE: that's 'deal with' not 'moan about' - Write down your goals, your plan of action, so you can keep a record of your success
