Definition: RIBA (Recombinant ImmunoBlot Assay) is a blood test that detects antibodies to the hepatitis C virus. Because it is more specific than some hepatitis C screening tests (like the Hepatitis C ELISA test), it is sometimes used to confirm these tests. However, other methods (like PCR) are much more common for this confirmation step.
