Summit County is host to two of the largest freeskiing and snowboarding competitions in the world, the Winter Dew Tour and the US Halfpipe Grand Prix.
The 22-foot Olympic-size superpipe at Breckenridge had its debut during the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour.
This superpipe is located in its premier Freeway Terrain Park.
It will be maintained all season long, so that all pipe enthusiasts can experience the same superpipe used in the Dew Tour.
The addition of the 22-foot superpipe is only one of the upgrades to the Freeway Terrain Park for the 2010-11 season.
Not only has the superpipe been enlarged from 18 to 22 feet, but the caliber of the entire park has been elevated to improve the experience for guests and athletes alike.
In addition to the Freeway Terrain Park, an advanced park for advanced riders, Breckenridge has four other terrain parks.
The Country Boy, on Peak 9, features a 14-foot halfpipe.

The Eldorado Terrain Park, on Peak 9, hosts a small triple jump line, a box line, and rollers.

Park Lane, on Peak 8, is an advanced-intermediate park with jumps, rails, boxes and other challenging features.
The Trygves Terrain Park, located at the bottom of Peak 8, is home to beginner features including rollers, a small jump line, and a box line.
If you feel the need for some instruction before dropping, uninitiated, into a halfpipe, the Woodward at Copper is a year round ski and snowboard training camp dedicated to park and pipe progression.
A safe and fun learning environment is provided for all levels of park and pipe riders and skiers.
They have a state-of-the-art indoor training facility.
Copper Mountain's pipes and parks include the Main Vein Superpipe, the Catalyst Park, Eagle Jib Park, and Kidz Terrain Park.
The Main Vein is a 22-foot superpipe that hosted the 2011 US Halfpipe Grand Prix in early December.
The Catalyst features three different jump lines ranging from small to large, and tabletops, boxes, and rails.
The Eagle Jib Park, at the base of the American Eagle Chairlift, has eleven features to help in the progression of rail riding.
The beginner Kidz Terrain Park located at the top of the American Flyer Chairlift has mini rails, small jumps, and a mini halfpipe.
Keystone has the award-winning A51 terrain park.
It has its own dedicated chairlift and it is even open for night skiing.
The park contains over 100 features, a superpipe, and three jump lines.
There is an incubator section offering smaller jumps and features for building your skills.
Arapahoe Basin has two terrain parks including Treeline, the highest park in North America, and High Divide, a progressive park.
For the opening of the 2010-11 season, Treeline contained ten features including jumps, boxes, rails, and other challenging features.
Last season, the High Divide park contained 10 different rail and box configurations.
