New gravel will be added to the tanks.gravel background image by YuriyVZ from Fotolia.com
Note how high the resin comes up in the tank(s). Use a wet-dry vacuum to suck up the old resin and gravel. The resin will be on top, the gravel on the bottom. Put three to four inches of gravel back in the tank(s). Put new resin on top of the gravel. Do not overfill. Fill to the same level as the resin that was removed. - 5). Screw the valve head back onto the tank(s). Make sure it is sealed but do not over-tighten.
- 6). Keep the unit in backwash position. Open the inlet bypass valve. The tank(s) will fill. When this is complete, open the outlet bypass valve.
