- 1). Update iTunes to the most recent version by opening iTunes and selecting "Check for Updates." Connect the iPhone to the computer using a USB cord and sync the device as normal. Disconnect the iPhone from the computer and open Outlook Calendar. Check to see if the updated events are now viewable. Sometimes the problem is as easily fixed as updating to the more recent version of iTunes.
- 2). Verify that Calendar events have the Message Class set to "IPM.Appointment" if updating iTunes did not solve the problem. Sometimes when Outlook plug-ins are installed, the setting for the Message Class property will change from its default of "IPM.Appointment" to something else.
- 3). Open Outlook from the computer and examine the property of the Calendar event items to see if, in fact, the Message Class was changed to something other than "IPM.Appointment" in any of the Calendar events.
- 4). Select "View," "Current Views" and "Events."
If using Windows Vista, select "View," "Current View" and "Customize Current Views."
If using Windows XP, select "View," "Arrange By" and "Current View." - 5). Click "Fields" and click the "Select Available Fields From" section to open a popup menu. Select "All Appointment Fields."
- 6). Select "Message Class" from the "Available Fields" column and click "OK" twice.
- 7). Verify that all Calendar events indeed show "IPM.Appointment" for the Message Class column. If not, they will need to be changed.
- 8). Uninstall any Outlook plug-ins if Calendar events do not show "IPM.Appointment" for the Message Class column. These plug-ins include Live Search Maps and any plug-ins that might change the default Message Class "IPM.Appointment" to something else. Once these plug-ins have been uninstalled, check to see if the Calendar events reverted back to the "IPM.Appointment" Message Class so such data can now be synced.
- 9). Change the Message Class value of each event manually to "IPM.Appointment" if removing the plug-ins fails to correct the problem. For a step-by-step guide of how to change Message Class fields, see "How to update existing items in an Outlook folder to use a new custom form" on the Microsoft Support page.
