The first thing that most people do once they have their website is to jump right in to Google Ad words and rely on this as their sole marketing strategy.
This can be very expensive and if you are an inexperienced network marketer you can become disillusioned about the whole process and give up thinking that it is not for you.
You may have very quick results but at what cost to you? Ad words has its place within your marketing strategies but should not be the sole source as there are other ways that will drive traffic to your website that cost little or nothing at all.
These can also increase your Google ranking without you spending any money on ad words at all and you may be pleasantly surprised where your add is appearing on the first page without you having an active campaign.
There are many free sites that you can advertise on as well as social sites that have much lower costs per click that will spread your budget further.
You can search the free ones out on the Internet and make good use of those and look on all the social sites for advertising information and place an ad there e.

You should also start a blog site or two where you can talk about yourself and what you do, your likes and dislikes, hobbies etc.
This can be linked to your website to drive traffic there.
Article writing is a very valuable tool as it can expand the amount of traffic to your site very rapidly.
There are many article sites all over the Internet such as EzineArticles, Squidoo, Hubany many more.
As you become more experienced at article writing you find more sites to submit articles to.
The next step is to link all your blog sites, article sites and social sites together, so that when you publish something on any of these it comes up on them all that you have published an item and drives traffic to it.
When you write an article for example it may be used by someone else, in an e book or a newsletter.
Then your article is traveling along another path with your website link to drive even more traffic to your website.
This is being done atno cost to you only the time it has taken to write the article in the first place.
There is still a place for ad words but all your efforts have lessened the cost and increased your profile and presence on the Internet.
By this time you will have enough sites linked together to start directing traffic to your website from posts on your social sites as well.
These can include face book, twitter, ning, delicious and many others.
Any sites that are linked to your blogs, articles etc will also put a post on these sites at regular intervals when you have put out a new publication.
By now you should be well on your way and be more comfortable with your writing skills and be writing more blogs and articles and seeing more results coming from your efforts.
You can even develop an e book of your own and offer it to people who visit your website.
You can find much enjoyment in what you are writing as you are becoming more active in your marketing and helping others along the way.
The stage is set for you to mentor your fellow team members and help them to become successful too.
This way of marketing can be the most effective way of increasing any network marketers presence on line.
There are also passive ways but that is for an another article as it is a different method again.
If you follow these guidelines you will have results very quickly and will then be able to expand into other forms of marketing at a later date that are a bit slower with results as you will be more inspired to carry on with your business and as you increase your expertise in the Internet side if marketing.
You will also notice that this way will expand your business all over the country you live in as well as worldwide in some cases as the Internet knows no boundaries.
This is a bonus if you live in an isolated area with limited potential and most Internet marketing is geared for worldwide expansion.
So go out and give it a go, try a few new things.
Get out of your comfort zone a little and you will be amazed at what you are able to do.
You may even find out that writing becomes easier than you think as it takes very little effort once ideas start flowing and one article will flow on to the next.
