How to Get Rid of a Felony Conviction in Pennsylvania

    • 1). Arrange the fee. You need an $8 money order, certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Personal checks and cash are not acceptable forms of payment.

    • 2). Prepare a self-addressed envelope. You need a business-sized envelope stamped with $.61 of postage. Then address the envelope to yourself with your current mailing address.

    • 3). Request application from the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons (see References). You must send a letter requesting an application for pardon, the $8 fee and the self-addressed, stamped business-sized envelope.

    • 4). Wait for your application and instructions. Only original applications provided by the Board of Pardons are accepted. The Board of Pardons application cannot be obtained online or from any other source.

    • 5). Complete your application for pardon. Follow the directions carefully, as incomplete applications will not be accepted. After the board reviews your application and completes their investigation, you will be granted a public hearing to hear your case.
