- 1). Power your system down, and remove all cables.9
- 2). Remove the side panels of your case.
- 3). Locate the places where fans can be added. These locations will have four holes for screws in a square pattern, and mesh for air to flow through.
- 1). Determine the direction that air will flow through the fan. Most fans have an arrow that points in the direction that air flows.
- 2). Screw in the fan. If the fan is an exhaust fan, have it blow air toward the mesh. If it is an intake fan, place it so that air flows into the fan through the mesh.
- 3). Plug the fan's power cable into a fan power header. These are marked as "Fan" on the motherboard, and the connector can only fit one way.
- 4). Reassemble your case, and power on your system.
