- 1). Ask the girl for help or advice on an assignment. If you are confused about an assignment, need some extra help or just want her opinion on the subject matter, bring it up to her either before or after class. She may be flattered that you asked her and, if she is willing to help you, it can initiate a string of conversations thereafter.
- 2). Discuss the teacher with her. Ask her if she knows how the teacher works or how much homework he usually assigns for the class. If you already know the teacher's habits, bring up something positive about him. Avoid saying anything negative as the student could personally know the teacher or actually be related to him in some way.
- 3). Introduce yourself to her. If you want to talk to the girl, you have nothing to lose by introducing yourself and letting her know who you are. You may also be memorable to her because you had enough courage to approach her and introduce yourself. She may want to know who you are but does not know how to approach you either.
- 4). Convince yourself that you are not nervous and portray that. If you meet a girl in class and act completely shy and scared, it may intimidate her into not knowing how to act around you. Being friendly can be an appealing quality. Do not treat her like a friend and spill your secrets, but talk to her as though she is just another person whom you are not nervous to speak to.
- 5). Bring in candy to share with the class. It may seem strange, but it could give her reason to approach you. Bring in a bag, and then have everyone pass it around and take some. She may approach you later on to thank you for your selfless gesture and you, in turn, have a reason to talk to her.
