Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is also referred to as juvenile or insulin independent diabetes.
However it doesn't mean it can't develop in adults, which normally leads to a confusion as type 2 and hence treatment of the wrong type of diabetes.
It is caused when the body cannot produce any insulin, or there is destruction of beta cells of the pancreas that produces insulin.
Which is required in controlling level of glucose (sugar) in your blood? Normally type 1 diabetes occurs very fast-like, some a few days up to a few weeks.
It normally occurs when blood sugar rises above normal range known as hyperglycemia.
Usually type 1 symptoms are unnoticed more so if the person has recently had an illness.
Some of its symptoms are frequent urination - which may be more noticeable at night.
Some children who have learned to use the toilet may start wetting the bed during forty winks or at night, feeling very thirsty and a dry mouth, unintentional Weight loss, greater hunger than before, producing excessive amounts of urine, and feeling tired.
Other symptoms are itchiness around the vagina or penis or getting thrush regularly.
Blurred vision often caused by the lens of the eye becoming very dry, cramps, constipation, and skin infections.
However if you have diabetes and you develop the following symptoms: loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting (feeling or being sick), A high temperature, stomach pain, or a fruity smell on your breath, which may smell like pear drops or nail varnish, then you need to seek medical attention immediately.
There is no proven preventive measure against type 1 diabetes since most people who develop type 1 were healthy and had the right weight.
But research shows that they can lose weight quickly and without control.
Diet and exercise may be the best remedy to strengthen immune system from damage.
It is important to know that frequent insulin injections help to keep type 1 diabetes under control.
