Long Beach is a popular, beachside community on Long Island's south shore within driving distance of New York City. If you decide to stay overnight, you can spend your evening partying in one of the many bars and nightclubs in town. Many offer live music, drinks deals and some even serve food. - The Inn is primarily a live music venue that stays open late at weekends. You can pop in any night of the week and enjoy performances by local musicians, including an open mic night on Mondays. Friday night caters to a post-work crowd, with an extended happy hour until 10 pm offering cheap beers and cocktails and acoustic artists on stage from 5 pm onwards. Later in the evening, a DJ takes over allowing you to start the weekend with a swing. The Inn also provides food during the day serving snacks and brunch, with the cheap Tuesday night Tacos menu always proving popular.
- Whale's Tale is a lively bar and restaurant, open until 2 am at weekends which provides live entertainment most nights. You can enjoy open mic comedy on Mondays, dine on lobster for only $10 on Thursdays or join in the show yourself with Karaoke Wednesdays. The weekends are when Whale's Tail really comes to life with DJs playing pop and classic rock. Friday night is ladies night with an open bar for all women between midnight and 2 am.
- Minnesota's on West Beech Street is another restaurant that then becomes the largest nightclub on the south shore of Long Island once the meals have been served. Open until 2 am during the summer, the large dance-floor gets very busy with party-goers dancing to tunes ranging from 1980s pop and classic rock to modern dance music. The dress policy here is casual but neat, and you can take advantage of happy hour offers throughout the week or watch sports on one of the many big screen TVs.
