- You can seek a family reunification visa if you are the spouse, child or other family member of a current Denmark resident.
- If you are going to college in Denmark you can qualify for a higher educational program. To gain this, you must have documentation of acceptance, that you can support yourself and have tuition payments covered and that you can understand the language of instruction. This visa does not apply to students taking less than a full course load or at an open university.
- You can get a residence and work permit for Denmark if you have a written job offer or contract, including employment specifications and salary consistent with Denmark standards. The Immigration Department will verify that the job is not for an "ordinary skilled-laborer or unskilled" job. For some jobs, it will verify that there are open positions.
- Internship visas are available to those serving as an apprentice in agriculture, veterinary practice, forestry, horticulture, health care, natural sciences, technical fields, pharmaceutical sector or architecture. You and the sponsoring institution need to fill out applications for these visas and you must pay a fee.
- Spontaneous asylum seekers can enter Denmark and fill out official reports to the police and National Aliens Division. Denied applicants may be sent to a "safe third country" of the United States, Canada or Switzerland if the seeker has previously lived in one of those countries.
