- 1). Verify that you are listed on Form I-352, the basic immigration bond form, as the obligor or co-obligor and that your mailing address on the form is still current. If your address has changed, file Form I-333 with the Krome Service Processing Center at 18201 S.W. 12th St., Miami, FL 33194.
- 2). Keep track of time after the bond is discharged. If you are the sole obligor, allow 30 days for your refund to be sent to you. Contact the the deportation officer assigned to the case to determine the status of your refund. Call the Krome Service Processing Center in Miami at 305-207-2001 to find out who the deportation officer is. You will need to provide the alien's full name, country of birth and date of birth.
- 3). Wait at least 30 days for a refund if you used a bail bondsman. The company has 21 days after discharge of the bail bond to refund your money. Contact the Florida Department of Insurance if the bonding company fails to live up to its agreement. Call the Division of Agent and Agency Services Bureau of Investigations at 850-413-3136 or mail a written complaint to 200 E. Gaines St., Tallahassee, FL 32999-0318.
- 4). Be sure to get interest on a long-term bond. When the federal government collects bond fees, the money is placed in an interest-bearing account. According to the Immigration and Naturalization Act, you are entitled to this interest.
