- Sports agency agreements state the fee the agent charges to represent an athlete, typically a percentage of the athlete's earnings. Agents typically charge 10 to 20 percent of a player's salary, endorsements, bonuses and other types of earnings the player receives.
- A sports agency agreement generally lists the length of the contract. While some agency agreements can be made for years, other agencies give the agency and athlete the right to terminate the agreement at any time.
- Sport's agency agreements don't give agents the right to make decisions for a player. Typical sports agency agreements allow a player the right to approve all contractual business an agent makes on his behalf, including the team a player will play for, products he'll endorse, speaking engagements and sponsored events.
