For avid fans of snowboarding, there are several suitable resorts in and near the state. - Wisp Resort is situated within the picturesque mountains of Western Maryland. It is a four-season resort that offers cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, snowshoeing, fly fishing and golfing. Wisp Resort is located over 132 acres. For snowboarders and skiers, the resort offers a vast array of terrain for individuals of all abilities, from beginners to experts. A couple of the most notable trails at the resort include the "Possum," which is ideal for beginners, and "The Face," which is perfect for those with advanced abilities.

wispresort.com - Whitetail Resort is actually located in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, but since the Wisp Resort is the only snowboarding area in Maryland, this is one of the nearest options for snowboarders. Whitetail Resort is a hub for both skiing and snowboarding, and consists of 19 different trails (all of which are available for snowboarding). The mountain features six lifts, a vertical drop that is 935 feet in length, two terrain parks and a halfpipe. The contemporary winter resort has a Western-style ambiance. Other features of the resort include two full-service restaurants, on-site coffee shop (Starbucks), complimentary ski and basket checks, sports shop (seasonal) and changing facilities.

skiwhitetail.com - Liberty Mountain Resort is situated in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, just a short drive away from many areas in Maryland (it is approximately one hour away from the city of Baltimore, in Maryland). Liberty Mountain Resort is nestled within the mountains and offers snowboarding and skiing, as well as extensive conference and meeting facilities. Night skiing is available at the resort, which consists of 16 trails (which have eight chairlifts), 14 lanes for snow tubing and a moving carpet lift. The resort's terrain is suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all different levels of ability. It offers 100 acres that are skiable, and its longest run is 5,200 feet in length. Three terrain parks are available, which span 10 acres in total.
