      Appalachian BackCountry Expeditions provides three basic float fishing packages along the New River Gorge National River. All trips include shuttle service between the fishing areas and riverfront base camp, tackle and life jackets. Half-day and full-day trips include refreshments and/or lunch. Overnight trips include two full days with riverfront camping and catered meals. "Cast and Blast" packages, combining fishing and hunting from your craft, are available in season.

      Last Chance Outfitters promotes catch and release but will make arrangements for replicas of trophy catches. Last Chance's tackle or fly-fishing trips run on the New River Gorge National River and Greenbrier River, which are stocked with bronzebacks, rock bass, bluegills, muskie and walleye. Last Chance runs trotlines and casts nets to catch bait and will skin and fillet your catch. Half-day and full-day trips include water and snacks and/or lunch and soft drinks. Last Chance offers midnight specials for experienced fishermen seeking trophy catches and two-day overnight trips.

      Canyon Rim offers guided float and fly-fishing trips on the New River Gorge National River. Canyon Rim's boats are outfitted with swivel chairs, casting platforms and a leaning bar. Tackle and flies are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

      Half-day and full-day float fishing trips or fly-fishing trips include drinks, snacks or gourmet riverside lunch and tackle. Canyon Rim's Overnight Trip includes two full days of fishing and overnight riverside camping, including tents, tarps, cots and hot meals.

      The Cranberry Wilderness in the Monongahela National Forest is home to the Cranberry Wilderness Outfitters. Cranberry Wilderness runs fly-fishing wade trips along the Cranberry, Elk, Williams and Greenbrier Rivers. Quarry includes wild rainbow and brown trout, native brook trout and small-mouth bass. Tailored to the needs and experience of the individual, the trips include transportation, flies and tippets, lunch and photos of the trip.

      Novices are offered instruction in the basic elements of fly-fishing, and veteran anglers will appreciate the experienced guides' knowledge of the rivers and local hatcheries. Half-day and full-day trips are available; a full-day trip includes lunch. Extended-length guided pack trips on mountain bikes are offered into Cranberry Backcountry or Cranberry Wilderness areas.

    • Mountain State Anglers is located at and partnered with the Rivermen on the Gorge Adventure Resort. Trips along the New River Gorge National River offer half and full day small-mouth bass trips and full-day trout and muskie fishing trips. It also runs a popular full day "Learn to Fly Fish" trip, instructing you on fly fishing tackle, fly selection, fly presentation and water reading skills. Mountain State trips are exclusively catch and release. Experienced guides with first-rate river skills and equipment guarantee an exceptional and safe fishing trip. Gourmet riverside lunch or snacks, drinks, tackle and transportation to and from the river are provided.
