How to Listen to Podcasts in a Car

    • 1). Download software (e.g., iTunes or Juice) that provides podcasts and install it onto your computer. (See Resources)

    • 2). Browse the available podcast titles. You find many from which to choose, on many different topics. Search by keywords to find something that fits your interests. You can subscribe to ones you prefer. A click of the mouse will start to download the latest episode of your chosen podcast. Decide how many archived episodes you want to load right away. Once you are subscribed, future installments will usually be downloaded automatically as they are released.

    • 3). Hook up an iPod, Zune or other chosen portable MP3 player to your computer. Any type of player should work, but make sure that the model is compatible with your software. For example, iPods are designed to work with iTunes. Load your MP3 player with your selected podcast episodes. It will not automatically update as your software does, so you will need to manually transfer each new installment of the podcast to your device.

    • 4). Hook up your portable device to your car's stereo system by plugging it into the speakers with an auxiliary cable. From your hand-held MP3 player, you can scroll through the available music and podcast files to transmit them through the speakers of your vehicle.

    • 5). Purchase a cassette adapter if your stereo system lacks an auxiliary setting. Available at electronic stores, a cassette adapter has a wire running from it that you plug into your MP3 player. Once inserted into the cassette player of your car, you will be able to scroll and play from the device.
