How to Build a Hanging Saddle Rack

    • 1). Angle both ends of one of the 4-foot long boards at 90-degrees as it will be the support board for the hanging saddle rack. It will also connect to the board that will attach to the wall and the board that will hold the saddle.

    • 2). Nail the other 4-foot long board to the 2-foot long board by hammering two of the 2.5-inch nails through one end of the 4-foot board into one end of the 2-foot board. This will create an L-shape.

    • 3). Screw one corner bracket into the 90-degree angle of the L-shape using two 1-inch screws on each side of the bracket connecting both boards.

    • 4). Attach the 4-foot board with the angled ends now to the other two boards using two or three 2-inch screws in each end creating a triangle. Sand the end that will stick out towards you using the sandpaper now if you want--this is optional. However, it may help to prevent slivers when getting your saddle down or returning it.

    • 5). Hang the saddle rack to the wall by screwing the 3-inch screws through the 2-foot long board. The 4-foot board without the angled ends should be on top and level so it will hold your saddle. The board with the angled ends provides additional support to prevent sagging from the weight of a heavy saddle.
